    Lysozymes are a collection of enzymes which function by attacking peptidoglycans (found in the cells walls of bacteria) and hydrolyzing the glycosidic bond that connects N-acetylmuramic acid with the fourth carbon atom of N-acetylglucosamine (Wikipedia).
